You CAN make a difference! 

You say you want to help fight one of the leading causes of disability in America?  Well, here’s your chance.

Put your best foot forward and help the Lupus Foundation raise awareness and funds to fight lupus. Gather your friends and family and take part in the Pacific Northwest Chapter’s Mad Hatter Walk and Roll.  Your participation helps an estimated 54,000 people with lupus in Washington and Oregon.

Walk On Your Own or Join A Team

Whether you choose to join a team or walk on your own you’ll be doing your part in the fight against lupus, plus you’ll have fun doing it.  And the activities don’t stop once you’ve crossed the finish line.  Be sure to stick around for the post-walk celebration featuring entertainment, food, and prizes.

Join the Team for a Cure  

The best way to enjoy the Mad Hatter Walk and Roll is to invite others to walk with you.  Anyone can participate.  Recruit co-workers, friends, family, neighbors, and whomever to join in the fun.  All participants who raise $100.00 or more will earn an official Mad Hatter Walk and Roll T-shirt. 

Get Involved today 

The following are ways you can make a difference and get involved with the Mad Hatter Walk and Roll. 

• Be A Team Captain!  Recruit family, friends and co-workers to walk on your team and raise money together.

• Sponsor the Event!  Become a corporate sponsor and discover the value of our powerful cause.

•  Volunteer your time and talent!  Volunteer on event day or join a planning committee.

• Promote the Event!  Host an information table or presentation at your office, distribute brochures, and hang posters.

 Form a Team  - Fun and Easy

Forming a team is FUN and EASY!  A team can be any number of people joining together to raise awareness and money to fight lupus.

Team members can include:

 It’s easy to start your team.

What Does a Team Captain Do? 

• Recruit members

• Supplies team with registration and donation forms (given to you by the Lupus Foundation, Pacific Northwest Chapter)         

• Encourages his team members to collect donations in a timely manner and secure in donations envelope to be turned in day of the walk.           

• Cheerleads and provides motivation

Each Team Member: 

• Is responsible for his or her own fundraising         

• Is eligible for individual and team prizes based upon funds turned in at the Mad Hatter Walk and Roll before 10:00 a.m.

Tips for Team Captain:

• Set your goals in advance (how much you want to collect from one donor, i.e., $25, $50 or $100.

• Please collect donations at the time you ask for it.

• Some companies have matching donations. Donor can check with their employers if they match donations to charitable organizations. They simply have to fill out a form.

                           

  Check the list of just a few companies in Pacific Northwest area that match employee donations to non-profit organizations. Donors can contact the Human Resources Department of their company for more information.

• Anyone who raises $100 or more will receive a 2007 Mad Hatter Walk & Roll T-shirt
